Farewell Mr Lee

LKY
23/03/2015 marks the day of a terrible loss of Singapore. Our founding father, Mr Lee passed away. These few days, the media was posting a lot of his stories and his achievement - how he made Singapore from a mud-flats to a metropolitan. A "First World Oasis in a Third World Region"
LHL is more of a leader of my time, but I remember this fearful man as the one who banned chewing gums simply cos "If you can't think because you can't chew, try a banana". An outspoken man who has never been afraid to speak out the hard truth, Mr Lee has been "accused of many things in my life, but not even my worse enemy has accused me of being afraid to speak my mind."
Mr Lee
Most of the media are using these words of him to mark his dedication to the progress of Singapore. Somehow, there was a bitter sweet emotion as I read it. As I read more of his quotes, I just felt more ashamed of myself at my inadequacy. In comparison, I seemed not not have made any mark in my own life - just pooping, eating, sleeping like any other mortal.
Decided to make a compilation of some his quotes that I sort of resonate with. He is quite a witty man, I have to say. Some of his speeches made me chuckle so much. He will be sorely missed.
Less Bright People having to support more dumb in the next generation
Quote_LKY
If I decided something is worth doing, I'll put my heart and soul to it. The whole ground can be against me, but if I know it's right, I'll do it.
LKY Quote
Wrong ideas have to be challenged before they influence public opinions and make for problems

And finally, I thought I wanted to end off with this picture. He and his wife had a really romantic lovely story. We don't have any royalties in Singapore. But this one story is befitting of what we would term as a "royal love story".
I just wish when I am old and wrinkly, I am also blessed enough to have someone by my side to make sure I eat my medicine, sooth me when I am choking in my phlegm and hold my hand just on a normal day. Sigh....

Not Dead, Just Trying to Study

For Funk is not dead! God dammit. Sometimes, I really hate you guys. The blog is not dead ok, I am just very tired, although I can't really say I am studying too much either. :(

Yup, that's me, you see right there. Half-dead from all the studying and analyzing. My heart stops a little when I see examination questions I have no clue what they are asking. :(
But I will be back after April, with a lot a lot of fabulous content. I am sure you will love it! But till then, I will be kissing my book. When I am back, I will blog about my trips too.
XOXO, please don't forget about me ok? I am not dead.

Wheel you marry me?

Oh well, just love the pun. So good isn't it?
So does it mean I am ready to make the commitment soon? I am unsure. I want a house but I don't really want a husband. To have and to hold - To have a house and hold the house keys. LOL! So super unromantic, can't really help but shake head at myself.
VolkswagenA wedding pop-by organised by Material World and Volkswagen Singapore, all the Volkswagen cars at the showroom were gaily decorated by gorgeous flowers. I happily snapped photos of the cars, while my boyfriend took photos of the car's specifications and price. I am presuming he is going to get me a car since he can't drive :P
Apart from featuring Volkswagen, there were also 10 other brands and services for you to better understand what you could need for a wedding. And I concluded - there are so many things to do. Wedding planner maybe?
Sartorialle
Wines, flowers, photography, videography and even wedding gowns and shoes, thinking of the things I had to prepare, I don't even want to get married...Geez. I think what was most unexpected was that they even had a fashion show. Took some shots of those gowns I like. It seems I am into white and simple, elegant design. One of the models tripped and I quickly decided, I didn't like the dress too long. Don't really want to trip on the wedding day do I?
We also went to sample some wine. We preferred the light dessert wine, but we heard stories about how the guests would drink more. The wine that we personally liked was so good that during the last wedding, it ran out at the 4th dish. BF quickly ruled out this wine for our wedding. He say would bleed us dry, LOL!
Revada
The food provided there, sponsored by Revada was really good. It did set me thinking whether having a banquet was necessary. Cos hosting it at a hotel was really expensive ($1,500 a table, min. 25 tables) OMG! If the food was that good, I don't really mind catering.
But as we all know, marriage is not just about the couple, it is also for the parents and relatives, basically a show put on for everyone. And maybe a few years later, maybe I might change, I would have status and a "face" to protect. I may need the fanciest and grandest wedding to live truly "happily ever after"!
Love
Ending off with a photo we took behind a backdrop of red roses. Edited it to look like a black and white montage while once again viciously blocking the BF's face with a huge red heart. That's for looking annoyingly cuter than me. Hmph.
To love and to hold? More like to bully and torture. Lol, so long next time. I might be doing more research on weddings, gaining inspiration while exploring the possibilities. So, planning way ahead and super early, let me create a wedding series for now :)

Pretty Little Things Part 8

Hey people, pushing this forward again cos it is a popular segment. :P I usually do find a lot of nice sites and well, when I really do not have much of a content, this usually fills up the gap. :P Muhahaha
Shimmer
Shimmery nails always kinda seem tacky if you can't really design it well. But if you like the tiny flakes of blings, then you will like Shimmer Polish. Sorry, if you aren't from the U.S, cos International Shipping is expensive and makes it not very worth it. Do try out their polishes if you are from the U.S and tell me how it is like.
And they have a web with some really fancy designs instead of just simply painting it on. That is way too bleh in my opinion. What do you think?
Chavenue
I have never talked about bags so this time round, I am not giving it a miss. Nod nod nod. You will be excited with this place cos they have really cute arm swags with very reasonable prices.
Sometimes the design of the bag will just indicate how cheap you bought it for and I positively, absolutely hate that. Cos all of us wanna look classy right? We don't want to look cheap. We just want to buy cheap. So don't give Chavenue a miss cos their stuff though not a hugh variety is a really nice collection.
Storets
With a good bag, you would need great clothes as well. I would like to introduce you all to this brand - Storets. They have the prettiest fashion I have ever seen. The clothes are so chic. And the design is super snazzy. Never have I seen such designs in Singapore.
In comparison, some of the prices may be a bit steep. But for work clothes, you would probably have to pay something around there too even in Singapore for decent cutting. It is not loud yet it is very appealing. Super loving them. Do check them out if you share my fashion taste.
We have come to the end again. But fail not, there will be another segment real soon. Quarters do pass fast!
